In ancient Greece, Socrates was famous for having a high knowledge and highly esteemed. One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher's premises and said, "Do you know what I hear about your friend?"
"Wait a minute," Socrates replied. "Before you tell me anything, I would give a simple test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."
"Triple filter Test?"
"Yes," said Socrates. "Before we talk about my friend, I think it good if we take a moment and filter what you say. That's why I call it the triple filter test."
First Instance filter is TRUTH. "Are you absolutely sure that you will say to me right?"
"No," the man replied, "Actually I just heard about it."
"Good," said Socrates. "So you're not sure if that's true. Right now I give it a second filter, the filter of Goodness. What would you say about my friend something good?"
"No, quite the opposite ..."
"So," Socrates continued, "you'll be talking about something bad about him, but you're not sure if it's true. You still have one more chance because there one another filter, the filter PURPOSE. What would you say to me about my friend's useful for me? "
"No, absolutely not."
"So," Socrates concludes, "if you want to say something that is not necessarily true, bad and not even useful, why you should tell me?"
That is why Socrates was a great philosopher and very respectable. Comrades, use the triple filter test every time you hear something about a close friend or friends that you love.
