Kindness

Mother Teresa of India tells the following nice story:


One day  a young couple from high caste Hindus came to our door and handed me a large amount of money to spend for the poor. In Calcutta we were cooking for 9000 people each day. The young couple expects their money used to buy food these people. Then I asked them, "Where did you get this much money?".

They replied, "Two days ago we got married. Before the wedding took place, we decided not to waste money to buy a fancy wedding dress, and also will not hold a wedding banquet. We want the money for it was given to the poor. "

For the high caste Hindus, do things like this is a big scandal. Companions and the relatives they can not imagine that wedding a couple of families who held without such famous gowns and wedding party lively.
  

Mother Teresa then asked them, "Why are you giving me all this money?"

And they gave this amazing answer, "We truly love each other so it was appropriate that we want to make a special sacrifice too early in our married life.

In the community where I grew up until now, if a pair of lovers to be married, nominally and all their extended family will be very busy with the preparation that takes time, thought, effort and of course money. Everyone involved in the preparation of these include the prospective bridegroom, probably did not think to do extraordinary things like the bride in the story above. They were too busy with plans to enliven the party with the expectation will cause admiration to all the guests in attendance. Bride in the story above doing a truly good things. I hope their actions can inspire us to learn to be generous and share with others not only from excess but also from deficiencies that we have.
